All you need to know about Windows Server 2012 approaching end of life

What does this mean?

The software that runs your business’s server is about to reach the end of its life. All Microsoft products and packages follow a fixed lifecycle policy which is usually pre-determined on the day of launch. It means that Microsoft considers it to be obsolete and can’t help if something goes wrong, or a critical security vulnerability is found.

End of support means that there’ll be no more security updates, bug fixes, or technical support from Microsoft after the cut-off date. Whilst they won’t necessarily cease to work, the outdated systems pose a significant security and compliance standards risk. The chances of experiencing data loss and other general performance issues will increase.

When does this happen? 10th October 2023
