Brian, Managed Services Team Lead
I have been working for San-iT since 2018, and from the very first day it has been a place of work that doesn’t feel like work. Yes, we have a job to do and a service to provide but the people I work with are more like family and our clients more like friends.
Coming from a customer service and marketing background, I have always had an interest in computers but never felt that it was an area that would be my primary focus, let alone a career move. Until about five years ago I had been in a Sales and Marketing role for 10 years and worked as a Marketing Manager / Graphic Designer for three years. Then, my situation changed, and I was forced to make a career change. With the help of a friend, I moved into IT support… and from then on, I never looked back.
After about a year with San-iT, I established myself, unintentionally, as someone who strived to achieve the best possible service for our clients and who encouraged others within the company to do the same. I try to accommodate others in any situation and be supportive to the team as much as possible. I think it was this approach that led me to being encouraged to take on the role of Managed Services Team Lead.
Working in the technology environment has its challenges every day, but I think that is what I love so much. Something new, never a day the same, another problem to solve, knowing that there is someone at the end of the phone who would really like me to help them continue with their job or complete a task. Knowing that I have helped them, and they are grateful gives me a sense of achievement. And to be able to do this somewhere that I love to work…… even better. At no point in my time at San-iT have I ever got up in the morning and not wanted to get stuck in.
Outside of work, I’m a family man, with a wife, two daughters, a dog and a cat… All females, so I’m totally out numbered. Wouldn’t change it for the world!
