Jamie, Projects and Escalation Engineer
I’ve been at San-iT since 2019, and work as a Projects and Escalation Engineer, but I’ve worked in the industry for over 10 years, in roles ranging from local IT to cloud system administrator.
My primary role is providing support to our customers and my colleagues through email, calls and online meetings in relation to IT support issues and projects. Sometimes it’s just about resolving day to day issues, and others it’s about identifying, proposing or delivering IT solutions to improve a company’s operations, productivity, security or helping them to recover from a disaster event.
I have a passion for understanding technology and how to overcome technical challenges. I’m always open to looking at a situation from a different point of view to learn new ways of doing things and new ways of thinking. I’m fortunate that my job gives me these kinds of opportunities on a regular basis. At San-iT I’ve found like-minded people throughout the business. We support each other – from the support team right through to the management team.
For me, the most satisfying aspect of the role is improving our clients’ technology experience, and the excitement that comes with it when things work as they should, while seeing my own personal progression and growth.
Away from work, I’m a life-long Manchester United fan and part of the supporters’ club. I’m from Ireland so moving to Manchester has been great in that way. Weightlifting is a big stress-reliever for me. It helps me relax and clear my mind by doing something simple yet rewarding after dealing with quite technical and sometimes demanding issues. Music was a huge passion for me growing up and something I actively took part in, but as I’ve got older it has become another great way to relax. My family is what’s most important to me. We are a very tight knit supportive group despite us all living in various different areas Ireland and the UK.
