Tom, Managed Services Engineer

I’m a Managed Services Engineer at San-iT, and I started working here September 2021. I am quite new in the field of IT but the support and training I have received has been amazing and has enabled me to learn new skills very easily and integrate into the team quickly.

My responsibilities consist of handling and resolving our clients’ tech enquiries. I really enjoy the role. Each request allows me to develop my knowledge and expertise, which helps us provide a better service overall. With the amount of variety in my role and how lively the team is, there’s never a dull moment.

San-iT is unique as its approach to managing and working is differing from anything I have experienced before. The company is structured in a way that supports the growth of employees, both personally and professionally. This stems from the company supporting academic ventures undertaken by employees, supporting people who want to learn more by gaining new qualifications. We also get the chance to take ‘Sanity Days’, where we get two additional days a year outside our allocated holidays to give us time to work on ourselves and even relax if needs be.

The support you receive from colleagues is great and the team is very friendly. We work well together and everyone has a ‘Buddy’. That’s someone in the team who you are paired with, where you can bounce ideas off each other to better each other’s knowledge.

Outside of work, I love gaming and martial arts. I was able to obtain my black belt in karate in December 2018. I also manage a 50-player clan within the video game Destiny 2, where I help people through hard content within the game. I love to help others.
