Improving secure sharing of sensitive information
This month we’re changing how we share sensitive information and documents with clients, allowing us to provide safer and more efficient support.
Going forwards, when we need to share sensitive information with you – such as user passwords, server login details or application keys – we’ll send you a link by email.
Clicking this will direct you to a secure page where you can view the information, but note that you can only open the link once. Once you close the link – or when it expires – the data will automatically be deleted, ensuring that your sensitive information is never stored in your emails, or on any server or computer.
When you need to send sensitive information with our support team, we can send you a link to create your own secure note which can only be viewed by our support engineers, and will also automatically delete when we close it.
These links are not limited to just passwords; if we need to share secure documents with you we can send you a secure link to download it directly to your computer, instead of keeping a copy on your email server; and we can receive documents from you the same way.
Last but not least, we can send authentication codes via secure links to make sure nobody is able to call us pretending to be a client, asking for changes to your systems. If you have any questions about how we securely share sensitive information and documents with you, or would like to discuss setting up a secure password management system further protect your sensitive information, get in touch with us.
