Microsoft Teams to help you speak in different languages during meetings
Microsoft Teams is introducing a new interpreter feature that enables participants to speak or listen in their preferred language during meetings. The feature leverages real-time AI-powered speech-to-speech translation, allowing your simulated speaking voice to be heard in another language.
A preview of this feature is set to launch in early 2025, supporting up to nine languages and including the capability to replicate your personal voice in a different language.
This is part of a broader rollout of AI-powered enhancements to Microsoft Teams. Soon, meeting transcription will support multilingual sessions, enabling transcription in up to 31 languages.
In early 2025, Microsoft will introduce a preview feature for Teams that can interpret and summarise visual content shared during meetings, whether from PowerPoint presentations or web pages. This will be offered alongside standard meeting transcripts and chat summaries. Additionally, Copilot will provide concise summaries of files shared in Teams chats, eliminating the need to open the full documents.
